The Hangzhou station of the HKAIIFF AI Film Hackathon took place in June 2026 as the first mainland stop of the festival's global city network: 72 hours of on-site creation followed by 7 days of online refinement across six creative tracks. The station was covered by Ta Kung Pao and the official Toutiao account of China Daily, and feeds the City Selection Seat pathway from a city sprint to the festival.
