The fee is US$99 per work across all categories, with no early or late tiers. Works must be completed on or after 1 August 2026; no premiere is required. Use the formal entry workflow at hkaiiff.io. Creating or buying an INDEX does not enter a competition. The 2027 festival event dates remain to be announced.

Assess each route independently. HKAIIFF 2027 has no premiere requirement, so prior publication on Douyin or YouTube does not by itself disqualify a work. Completion on or after 1 August 2026, the 51% AI participation standard, category and rights requirements still apply. MCN assesses creators and collaboration readiness; INDEX organises asset records. Neither grants an entry exemption or automatic commercial rights.

No. The published approach considers AI participation across the creative process, including writing, direction, generation, editing, sound and post-production. Explain where AI contributed and how people selected, changed and approved the result. Link representative shots to production records. A self-assessment does not replace a formal eligibility decision.

Document stages rather than just listing tools: name and version, the task performed, relevant inputs and outputs, human decisions and the final version they relate to. List live-action material, music, likeness and voice permissions separately. Start with the requested summary and representative evidence; provide deeper records when requested. Identify any unavailable evidence openly.

Start with the 2027 entry guide for category, viewing version and subtitle requirements. Linear works should state runtime, original language, subtitles and completion date. Interactive or real-time works also need the operating environment, interaction method, equipment and a representative experience path. Production evidence and rights materials should match the submitted version. Initial entry, supplementary review and exhibition masters are separate stages; confirm each against the entry guide and subsequent formal instructions.

Name the festival, edition, work, your creative role and the exact published result, then link its official record. An Index, creator partnership, city recommendation and competition honour are different records. Keep expert evaluation and Audience Index labels separate. Verify any unlisted award or score with the appropriate office before citing it.

You may apply. Assessment considers the work, creative voice, consistency, delivery, rights awareness, commercial fit and collaboration—not audience size alone. Prepare three representative works, your contribution, recent account activity and a 30-day plan. A successful application does not automatically qualify an account for a particular platform task.

The creator retains the real-name account and existing IP; cooperation permissions are agreed separately. List pre-existing works, characters and story worlds. Independently created work generally retains its existing rights position. Commissioned, invested or joint projects need project-specific ownership, credits and usage terms. Account authorisation should not stand in for every future content licence.

Income is not automatically pooled. Revenue sharing applies only to the written scope of Douyin commercial income that the organisation helps secure, manage or settle. Identify existing clients and other-platform or offline income in the agreement. Licensing, distribution and co-production use separate project terms. Agree the income scope before comparing percentages.

The supplied V8 programme sets creator shares of 50% for New Star, 60% for Regular Star and a negotiated share up to 70% for the highest tier. Tiers consider work, account, commercial foundation, responsibility and service scope; follower counts do not trigger automatic upgrades. Confirm the applicable tier and future-task treatment in the signed agreement.

V8 uses actual receipts less clearly identified platform service charges not already deducted, plus refunds or cancelled amounts. Do not deduct the same fee twice. If receipts after platform fees are 10,000 and no refund applies, a 60% share is 6,000 before separately agreed tax and payment arrangements. Statements should show orders, receipts, charges, refunds, share and payment status.

No onboarding fee means no fee for joining. Production, promotion, translation, legal work, registration, technical delivery and optional INDEX services may cost separately. Agree scope, quote, budget and payer before execution. Ordinary overhead should not become an undisclosed extra deduction outside agreed sharing terms.

No. Optional tool or credit procurement is voluntary and paid by the creator. Not using it does not change basic cooperation rights or an agreed tier. It should not be tied to festival entry, INDEX or a market project. Confirm the product, quantity, expiry, price, limits and refund terms before purchase. No free credit allowance is promised.

Days 1–30 establish account permissions, contacts, direction and work records. Days 31–60 progress content review, commercial materials, quoting and optional INDEX preparation. Days 61–90 review execution, rights materials and next projects. Inspect plans, material lists, briefs and review notes. This is a post-signing collaboration framework, not a revenue or order guarantee.

Disclose existing arrangements when applying. The permitted scope depends on accounts, platforms, territories, term, exclusivity and outstanding obligations. Clarify compatible work before granting new permissions. An application does not cancel existing agreements or authorise another party to accept orders or distribute your work.

For a particular film licence, distribution or localisation project, start with the market route and specify the work, rights, language versions and delivery materials. For ongoing content and account operation, explore creator cooperation. Douyin account revenue terms do not automatically govern all overseas licensing income. Identify contracting and settlement entities in project documents.

Account permissions, unbinding, handover and unsettled orders follow the creator agreement. Existing distribution, licensing or co-production projects follow their own contracts. INDEX maintenance and renewal are a separate service. Agree notices, timing, pending receipts and exit handling before signing; ending cooperation does not automatically cancel third-party licences.

No. Festival review, brand selection, platform distribution and buyer acquisition use their respective processes. Cooperation may provide agreed preparation, communication and delivery support. Evaluate the actual scope and records. Payment, account binding or a recommendation does not guarantee selection, views, orders or income.

Free submission creates a Submitted Record. Basic adds the paid asset-level public page, stable URL, Root ID, basic machine-readable information and an Index credential described in the product overview. Choose it if those deliverables meet your needs. The exact visibility of free-submission fields must be confirmed at submission; do not infer that every free field is private.

No. Define the asset you actually wish to describe and offer: AIF for a film, WF for a workflow, IP for independently usable intellectual property and WLD for a story world. Create related records when they have independent presentation, versioning or licensing needs. A finished-film record may be enough initially. Avoid duplicate or contradictory rights descriptions.

Basic provides a stable public asset record. Pro adds holder-approved public summaries, questions, keywords and buyer notes. Platinum adds market signals and controlled request capabilities. Choose based on whether you need a reference page, clearer public explanation or request handling. An upgrade stays with the same asset and does not guarantee external ranking, awards or sales.

No. INDEX ASK publishes fixed summaries, questions and keywords approved by the holder. It is not an unrestricted live chatbot. Drafts are edited and approved before publication. A buyer seeking detailed materials or a licence uses a separate request flow. ASK should not invent a price or a new licence commitment on the holder’s behalf.

AI and search systems may discover your work through other public pages, coverage or work descriptions. INDEX provides its own stable address, structured information and maintainable explanation. Crawling, indexing, citation and recommendations remain decisions made by external systems. An endpoint is neither a prerequisite for all discovery nor a ranking guarantee.

No. A Root ID identifies an asset record. Credentials record information and versions; ownership depends on applicable law, contracts, permissions and evidence. A verification label should explain what was checked, when and within what scope. Buyers still need to assess relevant music, likeness, voice, adaptation and third-party rights.

These identify or present the same asset in different ways. The public URL is shareable, Root ID preserves the technical identity and Machine URN supports system exchange. A vanity address is a memorable alias. Upgrades and aliases should remain linked to the original asset. Keep identity and change records when updating titles or versions.

Index capability, branded addresses and market presentation are separate service lines. Pro includes INDEX ASK. Platinum adds content and controlled request capabilities and may include preparation for Market Verified. Pitch Page and Buyer Room are separate purchases. Compare asset type, starting price, one-time or annual billing, any 90-day service term, deliverables and written renewal terms.

Public summaries, screeners, budgets and contracts can have different permissions. A request, approved access and an executed licence are distinct states.

Prepare a synopsis, runtime, languages, contributors and roles, poster or stills, trailer and a controlled screener option. Add AI and human contribution notes, key material and music sources, completed version and target territories or media. Financing or development requests also need budget and production plans. Start with an appropriate package, not every confidential file.

Yes, organise a WF, IP or WLD asset as appropriate. Workflows should identify version, dependencies, reuse conditions and offered licence scope. Characters and worlds should identify imagery, voice, settings, existing licences and intended uses. Displaying an asset does not authorise sublicensing every third-party model or component. Define what you can actually provide.

Read the source label. Independent reporting, republication, hosted press releases and formal media partnerships are different relationships. Each item should link the article and identify date, language, author or release source and publication type. A logo alone is not evidence of endorsement or partnership, and multiple articles on one outlet are not multiple outlets.

These measure different things. Geographic reach describes endpoint distribution; media audience scale describes the listed channels; public reads are article counters at a specified date; estimated exposure is model-based. Cite the report version, cutoff date, definition and source. Estimates are not deduplicated viewers, and a publisher’s total audience is not the readership of a particular festival article.
