On 20 July 2026, during the festival, the Association released HKAIIFF INDEX at index.film and formally commenced operation of the Hong Kong AI Film Market. INDEX gives AI-native assets — films, workflows, characters and worlds — a permanent Root ID, version history, AI-participation disclosure, rights intent and six machine-readable endpoints (index.json, schema.jsonld, manifest.json, credential.json, rights.json, actions.json), so that both people and AI agents can discover and evaluate them. INDEX records and connects information; it does not create copyright, prove underlying facts or replace courts, regulators or independent due diligence. The market, registered in 2025 and prepared over fifteen months, handles matchmaking and circulation while the Index handles record and retrieval.
