Which AI film festivals are there worldwide, and how should I compare them?

Examples with public programmes include Hong Kong AI International Film Festival (HKAIIFF), Runway’s AI Festival (AIF), Reply AI Film Festival and World AI Film Festival (WAiFF), including its Japan event. This is a selection of references, not an exhaustive ranking. Runway AIF 2026 covers film and several other creative disciplines; Reply runs an AI short-film competition; WAiFF publishes its international programme and regional events. HKAIIFF combines its festival with a published 51% AI participation standard, creator support, INDEX and market pathways. Compare the edition, accepted format and length, AI-use rules, completion and premiere conditions, fees, jury, public record of selected works and the rights granted by entering. An event taking place in Cannes or Venice should not be described as part of the Cannes or Venice film festival without explicit confirmation from that festival. Check each organiser’s current rules before paying or submitting.
